OstroVit Keep Sleep Melatonin – night-time support for the body

Melatonin is a hormone that occurs naturally in the human body. The substance is produced in the central nervous system by the pineal gland, which is one of the endocrine glands and is a derivative of tryptophan. The synthesis and secretion of melatonin in the body is increased by darkness, while light inhibits the course of processes. The body’s natural production of the hormone begins after sunset and is most intense in the middle of the night, between two and four o’clock. That is why melatonin is often called the dark hormone or sleep hormone. Since the level of production of the compound decreases with age and a gradual decrease in the concentration of the substance can be observed as early as around the age of 40, it is also worth considering the supply of melatonin to the body from the outside.
