NOW FOODS Hyaluronic Acid 100mg Double Strength 60VCaps

If you suffer from arthritis, are an athlete or highly active person, or are elderly, you likely know the pain of stiff, aching joints and cartilage depletion. NOW Foods offers this Double Strength Hyaluronic Acid (HA) formula – with 100 mg per dose – to help you ease the pain and slow aging of your aching joints, no matter the cause. Hyaluronic Acid is a clear, lubricating substance that is naturally produced by your body and present in every tissue, with its highest concentrations occurring in your connective tissues, such as your skin and cartilage. It is an important constituent of your joint fluid, where it serves as a lubricant and plays a role in resisting compressive forces. Hyaluronic Acid has been shown to help your body retain collagen, provide elasticity and flexibility, and increase moisture levels in your skin and joints. In addition to 100 mg of Hyaluronic Acid, this NOW Foods formula provides 100 mg of L-Proline, 50 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid, and 25 mg of Grape Seed Extract, to present you with a comprehensive joint-support package!

Lubricate Your Joints
Hyaluronic Acid resides in your joints to help keep the space between your bones lubricated, thus reducing your risk of bones grinding against each other and causing pain. With this in mind, NOW Foods Double Strength Hyaluronic Acid can be very helpful for people who suffer from osteoarthritis, a joint disease caused by degenerative wear and tear on your joints. Studies have shown that osteoarthritis patients – especially those between 40 and 70 years old – who took 80-200 mg of Hyaluronic Acid a day for two months experienced significant reduction in pain. In fact, an analysis of more than 12,000 adults showed that taking a Hyaluronic Acid supplement produced far better results than injections of Hyaluronic Acid did.

Hydrate Your Skin
Most research indicates that taking a Hyaluronic Acid supplement like this can result in a visible increase in your skin-surface hydration within about 4-6 weeks. Studies have shown that doses of 120-240 mg per day for a month can increase skin moisture and reduce dry skin in adults. Hydration is also important in decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, and several studies have shown that taking a Hyaluronic Acid supplement can make skin appear smoother, reducing wrinkles, redness and dermatitis.

More Benefits
Hyaluronic Acid also has been shown to play an important role in wound healing. Research indicates that it can help your wounds heal faster by regulating inflammation levels and sending signals to your body to build more blood vessels in damaged areas. Further, taking Hyaluronic Acid has been shown to help slow the rate of bone loss that precedes osteoporosis. And test-tube studies showed that taking high doses of this supplement may increase the activity of osteoblasts, which are the cells responsible for building new bone tissue.
